Journalism
William Hale White began writing newspaper articles in
1861 to supplement his income. His output was extensive
and has not received the attention it deserves. My goal is
to transcribe some of these articles.
The Aberdeen Herald:
Metropolitan Notes
May 11, 1861 to January 27, 1872 (every Saturday)
The Morning Star (London): Below the Gangway
February 13, 1865 to July 10, 1865 (every Monday)
The Birmingham Post and Journal: Sketches in
Parliament
February 3, 1866 to January 31, 1880
The Rochdale Observer,
Letters by a Radical
January 19, 1867 to March 30, 1872 (every Saturday). All
these articles are available at the British Newspaper archive
The Nonconformist:
Sketches in Parliament and How it Strikes a
Stranger
February 14, 1872 to August 6, 1873
The Norfolk News:
Our London Letter
March 2, 1872 to March 17, 1883
