The Unitarian Meeting House, Ditchling, Sussex

The Unitarian Meeting House, Ditchling

WHW preached here on occasional Sundays in 1856 and 1857. He gave the annual lecture on July 6 1856. The Church records note: "The Revd H. White preached both morning and afternoon. Persons partook of Tea after which Mr. White addressed the Congregation and the meeting concluded by singing a hymn." Dorothy Vernon White says that this is probably the "D-" referred to in the Autobiography. The pulpit is not the one that was there in the 1850s.
