Coxlodge asylum, Newcastle

The Building News of 19 February 1892 reported that Freeman and Robins’ entry was placed fourth out of eighteen in the competition. The asylum was built in 1869 but major works were carried out in 1892-96 by James W. Dyson of Newcastle. These works were presumably the subject of the competition. It is now St Nicholas’ hospital.
