Manchester and County bank, Bolton

Unlisted; in Deansgate conservation area; in use as bank

This building in Hotel Street was being built by Cunliffe and Freeman (1870) at about the same time as the much more elaborate Hardcastle Bank in Deansgate. George Cunliffe submitted plans for an extension in 1879 (entry 8428) suggesting that he might be responsible for the original design. Mills and Murgatroyd also submitted plans for an extension in 1906 (entry 19020).
