Wyresdale Park, Scorton

Listed grade II; in use as house farm and cafe

The original house was designed by E G Paley from 1856-58 for the Ormrods of Bolton for whom Freeman designed a number of buildings (e.g. Halliwell Lodge, All Saints, Pen-y-lan). The list description states: “A north wing was added to the main hall in 1894 and by 1912 a number of additional outbuildings had been added to the north of the existing outbuildings. At an unspecified date the property became a sporting estate and at c 1900 a large lake was created to the east of the buildings.” It is not known which of these works were by Freeman.
