St Peter, Mawdesley

Built 1839-40 (Edmund Sharpe); listed grade II

Freeman restored this church in 1892. The work included new pitch-pine benches, new ceiling, a new gallery at the west end and new screens. Pevsner correctly states: “The decorative timber roof must surely be Freeman’s.”
