Orlando Prescott (1871-?)

Prescott was articled to Freeman from 1888-93 and remained as an assistant until 1903. He supervised the Southport pier improvements. He later practiced in Wigan with Bold as Prescott & Bold. He designed the Grand Theatre and Hippodrome in Leigh (1908), currently (2017) a Wetherspoons.

The gable end shows a ventilation arrangement of three slits with two horizontal stone bands which Knill Freeman used in many of his buildings.
