Freeman appears to have had a loose partnership with Reginald Naylor in Derby. They are listed as joint architects for Derby Library and Museum and Holy Trinity, Holtby, North Yorkshire and for the unbuilt competition entries for Newark Hospital and Spalding Hospital, Derby. According to the Building News (but not verified elsewhere, and not mentioned in Freeman’s RIBA nomination statement) Freeman worked in Derby in the 1860s. His drawings were sometimes labelled “R K Freeman Arch’t, Bolton-le-Moors and Derby”. The partnership was dissolved in 1881.
