Related architects George Rake

George Rake (1829-1885)

Freeman was articled to George Rake in Portsea in 1864 at the age of 14. Rake had offices in Portsea and London. His buildings include:

Gosport town hall (won in competition)

Kingston cemetery (1850s)

Kingston prison (1874)

St. James hospital, Portsmouth (1875)

Arthur Cogswell was another pupil of Rake. He was responsible for many buildings in the Portsmouth area.
